Barrett said that performance was lousy for previous 18mo and he said it on 6/00. Any comments on intels actions to fix the problem over the last 23mo? I can not recall any short of Itanium 64 or 32 processor system that you kindly informed us about.....

I know. It was presented at MPF 2000 last month. However, the new mobile CPU design is slated for the 2002-03 timeframe. Two years is a long time into the future, so for the time-being, the good old P6 core will have to carry Intel's entire mobile market.
