Albert, <Want to give another shot and this time more reality and less party line>

As an AMDroid, you of all people should not be talking about "reality" and "party line."

As for Pentium 4 Xeon performance, how do you know it won't outperform Mustang? I happen to know what new features P4 Xeon has. I also know that AMD's 2-way SMP platform won't arrive until Q2 2001 at the earliest, and I know what P4 Xeon's roadmap looks like in relation.

A lot of this info I cannot reveal, but I can tell you that Mustang may have to compete on a "price/performance" basis. And AMD will do it by sacrificing the high profit margins they were originally hoping for.

So unless AMD pulls a rabbit out of its hat with Mustang, it cannot hope to compete with P4 Xeon. Then again, perhaps you got a sneak peek at the rabbit already?
