now it takes two indentured slaves Because people have all this stuff to support now. Think about it, forty years ago they built houses with one electrical outlet per room and a carport instead of a three car garage. Now people have cable TV and a TV in every room....even "poor" people. Most families have more than one car. Count the number of things in your house that require an electrical outlet.....and insurance. Go to the airport and look at the hordes that travel all over the globe. Forty years ago if your father took your mother to Europe it was the trip of a lifetime. You can live the way you lived back in 1960 with one income....but most people choose not to.
