There really is a significant difference between the two parties, and I favor the Republican platform, overall. There are issues where I differ, but I differ much more with the Democrats. I am a Libertarian at heart, a 19th century liberal, if you will. I believe in laissez faire. I believe "that government is best which governs least." (Thomas Jefferson)

If you read what flatsville was posting, you know what Democrats care about, the nanny state. No hangnail, no rash, shall go untreated by a government program, if they have their way. No social ill shall ever be solved by the people if the federal government can prevent it, that's the way they think. They've never met a problem that couldn't be solved with a federal program.

So, yes, there is a difference.
