The world has produced two exabytes of data. The sgi interface is 800 megabyte of per second or 2.5228 Petabytes a year. So one SGI HIPPI-6400 interface can move the worlds data in 560 less years. Try to digest that. Consider that the study says the amount of all the information in the world today, if stored on floppy diskettes, would create a stack 24 million miles high. The world produced about 1.5 billion gigabytes of information last year. That s 250 megabytes forr each man, woman and child, says a study from the University of California at Berkeley.
