I Must Be Lost I thought this had something to do with market bubbles and predicting their popping and even making a few bucks in the process. But since the OT topic of the day seems to be politics I'll offer my 2 cents (since that's all I have left after Thursday and Friday's jam job). I know Clarence Thomas and must take issue with your observation about Supreme Court Justices. To put things in context I am what I think Coby described as Jeffersonian Libertarian. Both candidates are totally unqualified to be CEO of a dot com not to mention president. Busch understands that and will tend to do less and listen to people who may have some insight into an issue more. Gore, does not, and that makes him truly dangerous. Both will screw lots of things up and both may do something right. Each will find that they make much less difference than they think. But most importantly, no one is going to be able to stop the forthcoming economic collapse of the US. Interestingly, neither seems to have given the possibility any thought or consideration. Whether you think there is going to be a crash, or you think that what is wrong with the economy can be corrected any serious student of economics and finance must acknowledge that there are many serious problems in the US and World economies: The amount of market volatility, the amount of commercial and personal debt, the lack of controls or even meaningful reporting requirements concerning the exposure of banks and other public corporations to derivative risk, the US trade imbalance, and the already weak economies throughout the world. I'm afraid that anyone who believes this is a democracy, or for that matter that a democracy is an viable way in which to run a country should spend some time thinking about those beliefs. Are they yours? Or are they beliefs that were feed to you as a child, at home and at school, and reinforced thoughout your adult life by political commentators and analysts who perform the same function for the political status quo that stock analysts perform for the stock status quo. And even more important, does it really make any difference what you believe. My recommendation is to get over it and see things as they actually are.
