Your arguments against DSL are based on isolated articles
which indicate problems on CLECs level, even though many CLECs with good business model are doing very well.
CLECs in US accounts for 5% of spending only.
You can not even bring solid arguments against SBC or Verizon
claims about record rate of deployment. Against: Alcatel, CSCO, or even
you employer Siemens who are selling records numbers of DSL equipment., and experiencing record booking. All of them stated that only components shortage prevents them form shipping more DSL gears.
Are you saying that all this companies are not telling true in their SEC filling, not installing DSL or not selling
the amount of DSL gears their reported in SEC filings and Q numbers?

You arguments remind me self serving articles form Street.com.
Sure, in Europe were process in slower, lots of developments in telecommunication industry are occurring about two years later then in N.America.
2-3 years ago many large telcoms in Europe were sitting doing nothing, now they are accelerating
deployment of the next generatioin networks and broadband access.
You claim been involve in Siemens wireless business.
With all your claims about ADSL, you either joking , trying to be wireless advocate or are completely blind.

In meantime stay in darkness
