Hi sylvester80; Re: "Yet the losers at Micron charge $200 for 128MB stick of pathetic slow PC1600 DDR ..."

Here's your link showing that Micron charges $200 to upgrade from 128MB to 256MB for DDR1600:
micronpc.com

Okay, here's another link showing Micron charges $130 to upgrade from 128MB to 256MB for PC133:
micronpc.com

So DDR, on an apples to apples comparison, is 50% more expensive than PC133. Big deal. That's much less than the premium RDRAM had when it first came out, and it is considerably above the premium RDRAM still has. How much does MicronPC charge for RDRAM? (G) Here it is, $350.

tech_clueless,

I'll bet that Sony is really glad that they decided to load their loss-leader PS2 hardware with expensive RDRAM.

Sony's profits continue to slide, dragged down by the titanic forces of the PlayStation 2 development and marketing budget.
