Remember the Republican Revolution of 1994 and the Term Limits movement? Its biggest victory was George Nethercutt beating Speaker of the House Tom Foley by promising to limit his terms to 6 years. Hardly anybody remembers that Tom Foley was right when he said the term limits laws were unconstitutional. Of course, Nethercutt is now backing away from his promise by continuing to run after 6 years. It turns out that Republicans only wanted to limit Democratic terms - not Republican terms. <g> Here is a story from the Seattle P-I on Nethercutt and term limits.
