Do you trade it?
Moves quick. You can possibly make/lose $1000. in 30 minutes

Yes I do trade it, and yes it can move very quick but I think that is why I like it. I like to day trade and frankly the more the better. That is prolly not a good thing but that's the way I am.

My take on it is this. If I am trading and I see a set up I think will make money I want to see it happen quickly. Sort of instant gratification. Don't get me wrong, I am not a gambler and I am very disciplined (must be to trade the NQ's).

If you are trading and you are good enough to make money consistently then why not have more opportunities to do so. That is the way I see the NQ's. If I trade a stock I might see 3 set ups a day for a potential 2 or 3 points. In a week you may see 15 good trades. Why not just compress all that into one day and make 15 trades in the NQ's.

Can I loose $1000 trading stocks in a week, yes. Can I loose $1000 trading NQ's in one day, yes. But the flip side of that is what ever I can make in a week trading stocks, I can make in a day trading the NQ.

This may not be for everybody but the way I see it the risk reward ratio is the same. Just because you can loose money faster doesn't mean you are going to loose any more, You just get it over quicker and go on to the next one.

Glad to hear you are getting closer to taking the leap. I think you will love them. If you want to get your feet wet try the ES's. A little slower but same mechanics.

One more thing, I do not know your experience level so you may not need this advice but make sure you have well defined rules for exiting and the discipline to do so. As you say they can move quick. A two second hesitation can cost you $200 per contract on even a slow day. Take your losses and take them REAL FAST.

And if you don't have any losses please call me I'd like to talk to you <ggg>.

I'm using a CME sponsered "trading simulator" to trade for now

One more thing. You can download Interactive Brokers trading platform and run it in demo mode for free. Might be worth checking out. When you go live they are very fast and starting in Nov will only be $2.95 per trade.
