You know, and I know, that Medicaid is administered at the state level. So why do the tax dollars go to Washington to be recycled to the state, sans Uncle's take for running the bureaucracy? Dismantle the boondoggle of using Medicaid for health care for the indigent, return that function to the states. I don't have time right now to figure out how much money is wasted on federal bureaucracies that have usurped state and private functions, but I can tell you that if I had my way we'd get rid of the federal education department, the federal welfare department, the federal agriculture department, all federal subsidies to industry, the Small Business Association, National Endowment to the Arts, Public Broadcasting system, and that's just for starters.

I wish someone would explain to me why the federal government collects unemployment taxes when you get employment compensation from the states. Or why Congress thinks it has the right to tell states what BAC level is acceptable in DUI laws. It's just nuts. They have never heard of federalism, have no concept of what it means and why it's important.

Further, we'd pay the members of the Armed Forces a living wage, so they don't have to rely on food stamps in order to eat. That's a national disgrace.
