I know how you feel. And of course when I argue I'm not very "nice". When you point out ignorance and shoddy reasoning it's never pleasant for the person on the receiving end. But remember, there is no way to teach people to be kind and compassionate, without modeling kindness and compassion. I think it's not bad to model righteous anger once and a while too- but mostly, kindness and compassion- because I've seen those things make the world a better place. They may not win in the end- who can say what will win in the end, and whether that even matters? But kindness and compassion will make YOU feel good about YOU in the long run. I have never regretted a kindness I've done, but I have regretted a few I've not done.
