To: Dr. Id who wrote (4724 ) 11/4/2000 12:57:27 PM From: Frank Griffin Respond to of 10042 His present and recent history disputes your position. He has been an outstanding leader in Texas. (reelected by 70% of the vote equals a mandate and practically total confidence in his leadership.) GWB will be a great team builder because he is sincere in building a better America. He will surround himself with the very best minds and talent America has to offer. GWB stands head and shoulders above the other choice, Al Gore. Even if you look at academics to which you refer, GWB had far better grades and a better education that Al gore. Gore flunked out of divinity school and either dropped out or flunked out of law school. He, according to his classmates, had a great predilection to use opium laced marijuana on a regular basis. So, neither choice is perfect. But, when you balance your views and make an evaluation of each candidate, George W. Bush stands as the superior candidate to lead America into the 21st Century. His team will also be far superior to a gore team of Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, etc.. And, you have to question gore's judgement when he says, after the impeachment of Clinton, Bill Clinton is one of the greatest Presidents in Americas history. If you agree with that Gore judgement then you should vote for Gore. Gore also says we need to listen to Al Sharpton because he says important things. I don't agree. My vote will go to George W. Bush. I have to believe the vote of most Americans who consider what has happened and has failed to happen (promises but no meaningful change in Social Security, Medicare, Childrens health, etc) during the Clinton and Gore administration. Just promises. And, to illustrate how things can flipflop with Mr. Gore remember in 1992 we were promised a tax cut. In 1993 they gave us the largest tax increase in American history. Is that a flipflop? I think so. Gore will be regressive for working Americans. Higher taxes, higher gas prices, unaffordable transportation, everything relating to energy will go up, and up big! I saw Gore interviewed recently and he was asked about technology prices going up substantially under a Gore administration. They used a washing machine as an example. The reporter said that because of environmental dictates the price of a washing machine would double in price. Gore said, "that may be true but over a few years they will get their money back with increased efficiency." Um. What problem has our current washing machine caused that require us to change it and double the price? I appreciate your offering but you are relating to school years where Bush still graded higher than Gore. Remember the old saying, "You have come a long way, baby." Bush has come a long way. He is a leader and that is what America needs. Vote Bush.
