Re: Attention Kmart shoppers: PCs now available

LOL!

So after all these complaints from Paul about kmart CPUs it turns out he must have been whining about the bottom feeder Intel chips. I guess if it's your only market, that's where you go!

Great catch Milo!

:-)

Dan

Looks like we will have to create a new category. The Blue Light end. Dominated by Intel! Andy Grove wanted it, he got it...
A major WIN for Intel, LOL.

milo:

"Kmart is selling personal computers for the first time in 20 years with the debut of the BlueLight True Blue PC, named for the discount chain's BlueLight.com Internet venture."

Comment: Such irony...INTC now pushing "Kmart Bluelight Special"...Just one year ago, didn't Paul label the K6 the Kmart 6 in derision...My how things have changed in only 12 months...Paul, if you're out there, can you provide your insights on this latest major marketing thrust by INTC??? The "Celery Kmart Bluelight Special"...Gotta do something, I guess, to offload "dusty" inventory...Looks like INTC is probing marketing channels hitherto beneath the dignity of many of their talking heads, no Paul???

Re: "the BlueLight label. Prices start at $499 for the basic unit, which includes a 633-MHz Intel Celeron processor. '

Yep - saw that !!

Looks like another WIN for Intel !!

AMD's market share is under siege - Intel is already reversing AMD's gains over the prior years.

Better keep that in mind as it impacts your "inevstments" !

Re: "now they have to almost give celeries away."

Intel makes a profit on EVERY PROCESSOR they sell - looks like Intel's lower costs, smaller die, and LOWER COSTS are providing a BETTER VALUE PROPOSITION than AMD !
