Talk about optimism. Gore tells 75 year old people they might lose their social security in 25 years and they get worried.

Bush's plan will give their children and grandchildren something to retire on.

Gore leveled the $1 trillion criticism of Bush's plan in the second debate. Bush has not responded. To me this signals that Gore is telling the truth about Bush's plan. It's not scare tactics if Bush really will cost them their SS.

On that note, I have a question for you. What do you think about Bush's "SS is not a federal program" flap? Do you think he plans to completely privatize SS and this was merely a Freudian slip?
