andreas:

So if I can interpret this correctly, INTC's P4, deliverable, maybe, and I underline maybe,in retail quantities one year from now, will perform as well as AMD's 1.2 gig "spry Athy/DDR platform" which is available in retail quantities in Q4, as in now...Mercy, mercy...

For some reason, the recent comment by AMD's Bob Mitton comes to mind when I read this P4 hype in response to the question: Can Palomino (new Athlon) reach 2 GHz to which Mr. Mitton responded: Of course. Why wouldn't it?

Seems to me that the very real possibility exists whereby when INTC finally, if ever, irons out P4 1.4 gig kinks, one year from now at the earliest, that AMD will have already stockpiled 2.0 gig Athys!!!!
