Bill,

First of all I value your opinions a lot. You are on to a lot of interesting things and I've got you people marked because I like to keep up with what you are doing.

Actually I got in when ERC was in the teens, but bailed early (my mistake) the day it changed its name, to buy a Canadian fuel cell Company (Global Thermoelectric) at 8 which I sold at 32. So I made a bunch there, but would have made more had I stuck with FCEL.

I think you probably have more perspective in this area than I, because you have been more active. I think the story will develop along the lines you suggest although I think it will take longer than you think. My opinion is doubling your time frame for it to happen (but I'm not privy to any particular infor on this---it is just my opinion). I think you can discount the Al Gore influence if he wins because it is most likely that the Republicans will retain narrow majorities in both houses and even if they don't the Dems margin will be so narrow no carte blanche will be given---however the Repbulicans might get on board if this is part of a National Energy Policy which lets them open up the Artic Wildlife Area for Drilling.

I do disagree with you about one thing---based on my understanding of the technology, which is limited, I think Ballard is heading for trouble. At least if I understood what Sid said about it. I think both GLE and FCEL have superior approaches.

I appreciate the reference to other websites. I'll check them out.

One tagential play that I continue to like here, and you must have patience with this, is Sasol which has signed a bunch of joint agreements with majors to bring GTL (natural gas to liquid fuel into being in a number of places--the Netherlands and Nigeria) It is has formed a new company with Cheveron to do this world wide. The first plant is not due to be completed until 2005 and then factor in another year for delay etc. So it may be a while before the stock reflects this, but it does pay more than a 6% dividend while you wait and its RELATIVELY cheap, and this is the clean fuel that will dovetail with what fuel cells will require as well as what may be mandated for smoggy cities.
