<<if Bush was so nervous about reporting his DUI conviction and having his lovely daughters find him out, then why so open about the alcohol abuse...>> His prior drinking is very well known and his quitting sets an example for his daughters. Tried it, it wasn't right so I quit. His daughters are now dating age. I doubt he'd want to send a message to his daughters that he had a DUI so they could get into a car with a driver who has had a few. As governor he has worked with MADD and the Texas director has known of his DUI since 1995 so he really hasn't been hiding it that much.
