Indeed. Bush using his 18-year-olds twins as an excuse for his political career is a far worse transgression than anything Clinton critics have come up with about him.

His prior drinking is very well known and his quitting sets an example for his daughters. Tried it, it wasn't right so I quit.

His daughters are now dating age. I doubt he'd want to send a message to his daughters that he had a DUI so they could get into a car with a driver who has had a few. As governor he has worked with MADD and the Texas director has known of his DUI since 1995 so he really hasn't been hiding it that much.
