BIG DIFFERENCE: neither Gore nor Clinton are/were running on the backs of a "holier than thou" campaign...Bush used this as the foundation of his campaign.

Clinton and Gore were also mentioned in the same article I saw about travel to Canada, but only in passing near the very end. The headline and story were about Bush. Funny, I thought Clinton is the President and Gore the Vice President. You'd think someone would have made some noise in the '92 and '96 elections. Didn't Clinton go to Trudeau's funeral a few weeks ago? I don't remember any stories about a special dispensation.
