Direct to market is just a fancy name of "no review" of trades

I have been writing letters for the past few years for my support of killing the "know your client" rule in Canada. I guess someone finally listened to my ramblings <gg>

The Canadian brokerage firms have been using the "know your client" rule as an excuse for the high costs we pay compared to the US. If they don't lower transactions costs (which I doubt they will) I would like to know what excuse they will use. The Canadian brokers have just pushed threw a new rule to stop us Canadian from using any US brokers and some of the US brokers are now canceling Canadian accounts. Talk about a nice strangle hold. What a country we live in.
