A question has arisen regarding the impeachment of Mr. Inderjat Marwah regarding his presidency of the Open Society Association.

Previously, Mr. Jerry Krim stated that impeachment proceeding for this particular presidency can only be initiated with Mr. Marwah's consent. Mr. Krim has reconsidered this statement and has deferred to the judgment of legal counsel on this issue.

Legal counsel has concluded that proceedings against the president of the Open Society may commence without the president's consent.

To allow the president to consent to such proceedings would be a grave conflict of interest and would run directly against the basic principles of the Open Society. No man is above the law and above principles of openness and accountability to others for any alleged wrongs committed.

Therefore, on Wednesday November, November 15, 2000, impeachment proceedings against Mr. Inderjat Marwah will commence with respect to his presidency of the Open Society and his membership in the Open Forum. This statement is final and not subject to appeal.

Mr. Salerni:
I have read your message. I choose Mr. Marwah. I now assume we will never speak to one another again.
