I respect the atheistic position. They do seem to have a clarity that comes when a resolve is finally made and a bridge is crossed.

I guess the main reason, I don't cross that bridge is that I don't trust our knowledge to be meaningful. As we look back we recognize that 100 years ago, people knew next to nothing. Likewise, I think that we know next to nothing. If the universe has neen around for awhile, or if it has been around many times, or if there is some history library of the last 20 trillion light years of LIFE somewhere in Orion, then perhaps we could start learning a little bit!

The rational mind may be the surest tool we have, but it is a stone age one, and does not cut very deeply, IMO.

Maybe some space renegades seeded the life here, and will return some day to wipe out their little ant farm, and carouse and party like the olden pirates when they returned with their booty!

What I'm saying is that I believe the little we have seen of the Universe puts us almost entirely in the dark when it comes to reasoning about anything outside of the tiny bedroom where we have spent our lives. I would personally be surprised to know that there were not innumerable entities roaming the cosmos, including those that might be pure mind (whatever that is)! <ggg>
