Get used to it. The "optical" guys are talking about putting hundreds of states per cell. Within a year or two, one bit per cell-per-transistor will be old news. The question is not IF it can be done ... but how many bits they can detect per cell. Cell size is important so it all boils down to how many bits you can store on 100mm^2 of silicon.
