Don't get me wrong; I don't think all is bad for AMD.

They certainly look to have a better hand in the mobile arena in 2001 than they did in 2000 (esp 2H00). Sure, their chips are going to burn more Watts than the competition, but CPU consumption isn't EVERYTHING. As long as it's reasonably low, there's a market.

The business sector also holds some promise for AMD next year. It certainly can't be much worse than the roughly 0% of the x86 business market they got (will get) in 2000 ;)
