I have this funny feeling the polls are not capturing the enthusiasm Republicans have toward voting for Bush this year. I also have a theory the polls are getting distorted more and more, because, far more people have caller I.D. devices and recording machines. I know we rarely answer the phone in my home without checking caller I.D. or letting the machine pick it up. I suspect many other families are acting similarly because of the proliferation of phone sales. More intelligent people are more likely to use caller I.D. and phone recorders. Therefore, they are more apt to be Republicans. So the polling methods favor Democrats.
