i wouldnt short to quick techie, the markets are going into their "prime season" and bad news is not as bad as it was in october, i would say cisco's top line numbers are there, but there will be disagrements about their accounting, giving it a mixed response to cisco, but probably be neutral to the rest of the market, if they do out and out disapoint--then the networkers will be the place to short, i would also throw in hand as a short candidate, it cannot support its valuation, i dont care how many pda's they sell, its a low margin widget that will soon become a commodity item like a 19" tv imo, and there will be a lot more competitors coming to market, if cisco does hurt the networkers, look for the tech money to go to previous leading internets like aol, cmgi, yhoo and also to some biotechs, the money will not dry up it will just rotate, we just need to get there ahead of the rotation, but im betting leading internets have a good november regardless of cisco earnings monday

Hey Softie,
Noticed you over on the GENU thread...how about some input on the company and what you think about that market?

Do you still believe in this ?http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=14114218

(BTW, I like your long posts more than the shorts - haha)

Softechie, I give you more credit than that. you can't actually expect CSCO to miss earnings or forecast a slowdown. here is where CSCO's lack of true carrier telecomm exposure will help it tremendously. tp
