In the car making world, a Buick could just as easily be more than 50% made overseas as a Honda or Toyota these days.

It's nice to see Quality coming back so strong in old name American vehicles though. My Olds is one sweet, solid, quiet driving machine.

I have pledged not to buy another UAW produced automobile. As long as the Auto companies pay benefits to homo partners, I will buy foreign cars. I have started this as of my last purchase. Money is the only thing that will change some of the immorality that exists in this country.knc

My kids also drive a couple of old Chrysler products: '88 Dodge Shadow and an '89 Plymouth Sundance. I think we paid $4 grand for both combined a couple years ago. All those cars do is run, run, run. Fun to drive, too. My first car was a '66 Dodge Coronet with the stick on the column.

My monthly union newsletter used to have a standing column on companies/stores to boycott for anti-union activity. Haven't seen it in a while, though. I think most union people do make a definite attempt to Buy American.

I am not up to speed on whether U.S. automakers are also working on the gas/electric engine. I do know one auto dealer in town is selling the new gas/electric Toyotas. Surprisingly, the car gets better mileage in town vs. the highway.
