Yes GTE San Diego is switching. They are currently running both TDMA and CDMA networks but CDMA coverage is getting worse as they transition more of the old CDMA channels to TDMA. They are no longer selling any CDMA phones.

Unfortunate but true.

Re: Ripping out CDMA in SD, I still have one year to run on a two-year contract with GTE, Rick. We have Qualcomm QCP-860 thinphones on 3 lines. Actually, CDMA service seems to be getting better in north San Diego County. However, my son went with GSM in San Diego. He said the coverage was better. Sad, sad, when your own son turns against you...but then he has only 25 shares of Q...<gg>.......jj
