Cummings: Brennan's endorsement of Bush simply reflects that there is no "unithink" among union leadership. Why should this surprise anyone? Brennan is free to dissent, unlike Republican congressmen from Texas.

Having said that, there is a reason that the national governing bodies of the AFL-CIO, Teamsters, UAW, Communication Workers of America and the NEA all endorsed the Gore-Lieberman vision for America. That reason can be summed up as follows: The Gore-Lieberman team offers the best hope for for the common working man and common working woman.

At last glance, I believe union membership favors Gore-Lieberman by about 12 percentage points. I think the actual margin will be somewhat higher on Tuesday.

Now THAT'S a thinking man's Teamster. He can decide what's best for his family, without Gore and Washington telling them. Who's going to be next?
