goldsnow,

take it easy, I just wanted to get yaacov worked up, it doesn't take much, does it?<VBG>

I agree that the Middle East, Kosovo, Cyprus problems are too difficult to solve and I believe I understand fully Israel's security concerns (heck, not just security, we are talking survival here).

That still does not change my view that the Palestinians have been wronged and have justice on their side.

But, my friend, people like Yaacov give hamas their legitimacy. Their pure hatred towards "ragheads", racism and just plain misery...he reminds me Emile, remember that other fanatic lunatic?

By the way, who are you voting for? I am thinking Green.

SI is providing me with many laughs, it is like a drug...Hope we don't get bombed by spammers with their new policies.

Cyprus are not that different, except Serbs can go back to Serbia and Greeks back to Greece, Israelis will have to ""

Talking about atrocities, what the Greek thugs did to the Turkish minority in CYprus is as bad as their Serbian brothers did to Albanians! The truth of the matter is that Greece is in Europe by a pure geographical mistake. They are kin to Palestinians, as far as I am concerned. The Untied States and Great Britain should've allowed the Turks to take the whole of Cyprus after the mass murder Turks!
And while at it, take the All the Islands in the Agean Sea, which historically belong to Turks. After all, Turks have been loyal allies that never stabbed their friends in the back!

We should ask ourselves what have Greeks done in the past 2500 years? Almost nothing except importing the "Greek vice" to the rest of Europe. Tito Livio wrote
that within 100 years after conquest of Greece by Rome, Greeks had corrupted the Romans. They imported to Rome the art of lieing , cheating, stealing and back-stabbing! They are still the same. Sometimes I wonder it is the Greeks the corrupted Turks and not vice versa! They immigrate in EC countries and all they contribute is setting up Kebab stands, and we have to maintain them with our tax money! We like them to join the Arab League and liberate us from the burden of supporting them!

--but this is a war for the territory that neither side will ever give-up--

that's all it's been, everywhere. if you can't keep 'your' land someone else will take it...

for instance, the europeans settled in (took) north america, now the mexicans are making the southwest their own again.

on and on and on and on and on

in my opinion the real - yet often unseen or unheard of - struggle is between monotheism and paganism.

one of the biggest problems with the islamic monotheism is that they don't even allow any music!! that's boring as hell!! i like the thing about women only getting half a vote though.

as for judaism, i like the 10 commandments, although so many so-called 'jews' in our own government and media seem to have cast these aside. it was heartening to see lieberman get excommunicated.

leviticus has some bizarre stuff.

christianity... alas i no longer believe in the resurrection... the whole thing became too convoluted for me when i began reading the bible (old and new) in earnst.

inside of the 'big three' you have competing sects galore.

outside of these three you have all of the permutations of paganism swirling about in a contentious mix.

wow what a bizarre world we live in.

there will only be peace when no one is left standing, for even if one man were left standing, there's a good chance he would be at war with himself.
