As to the DUI, it is not a matter of paying his dues, it is a matter of the remarably poor judgement he exhibited at age 30, and the wanton disregard for the lives of others.

As to the larceny, he was arrested for stealing a Christmas Wreath.

I really am finding it funny listening to people excuse away this man's criminal past, as if to say it was years ago, or that he "paid his dues". By that measure, a man who served time in jail for murder, but was released 20 years ago would be a fit candidate.

Is it SO wrong to want to vote for someone who has NOT been arrested, regardless of whatothers may think of the severity of the crime?

Mickey

Here is the scoop on what that desperado did in college

Several times Bush got into minor trouble. Once it was for pulling down a goal post at Princeton with a bunch of friends while celebrating a Yale football victory.

"The game ended and we all poured out and George was on the goal post. I remember it like it was yesterday," recalled his friend Clay Johnson. "We tore that sucker down and the campus police said, 'You all are coming with us.' So we went marching over to the campus police station and they said, 'You've got 10 minutes to get out of town.' "

On another occasion, Bush got caught with some friends "borrowing" a Christmas wreath from a store door in New Haven. He was arrested for disorderly conduct, but the charges were dropped.
