Chambers is talking internally about growth goals far above what he speaks of publicly. I have heard numbers in the 70% and more range as John's internal goal.

Although they he is on record as stating that they will hit $50 billion in sales by 2005 (I believe), I was told that they're now internally projecting $75 billion by 2003. Wow!

We all know that CSCO will beat the street numbers by $.01. JC's tone and enthusiasm forward looking are what we must really key on.

If they do beat the EPS by a penny, it will be the 14th consecutive quarter of doing so. Likewise, it could be the 11th consecutive quarter of sequential revenue growth. This would strengthen the reality picture that unlike other Silverbacks, a large portion of Cisco's revenues come from dynamic markets that are not in as mature of a growth phase such as Intel and Microsoft. That's an obvious statement, but simply points out the TALC's of all three as being different. It could also signal an interesting look into the optical field revenue growth to see how secure the position is growing against the likes of Nortel and Lucent.

I'm really looking forward to the CC tonight provided I can stay awake on this side of the pond.
