Has Micron upped the DDR ante?

micronpc.com

memory configuration selections:
128MB 200MHZ DDR SDRAM - 1 DIMM
256MB 200MHZ DDR SDRAM - 2 DIMMS [ADD $200]

Hmmm, isn't that about the same price as RDRAM?
What happened to those cheap developer prices?

... and that's without the royalties (yet).

<You do not know very much do you?
SDRAM and RDRAM were announced at the same time in 1991.
RDRAM shipped in 1995 at 500MHZ. SDRAM shipped in 1996 at 66MHZ.
It took a year longer to ship SDRAM. I could go on with the DDR schedule versus the PC800 schedule but it is wasted on you.... >

You may want to check the meaning of words
"developed" and "shipped", dear jim_kelley.

And please do check your math as well. By
1999, when Rambus went on and off, busted,
delayed, RMA, etc, the SDRAM was working in
how many computers? 200M? Or 400 millions
(somebody help me please here)?

Then talk about "delays" in development. LOL.
