Interactive Telesis Appoints New Board Members

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 7, 2000--Interactive Telesis(TM), Inc. (OTCBB:TSIS - news), a leading provider of speech-enabled hosting services, Tuesday announced the appointment of Ken Ravazzolo and W. Lee McVey to its board of directors, adding substantial business, interactive voice response (IVR) and speech-related industry expertise.

McVey's career spans nearly 30 years in the engineering field. Nineteen years were spent managing the electrical distribution facilities at Pacific Gas and Electric Company. Lee is a senior member of the Electrical and Electronic Engineers and is currently the Consulting Engineer and principal owner of System Power Services, in Bradenton, Fla.

``I firmly believe that speech technologies will play an integral role in the future of computers, particularly as it relates to the Internet and e-commerce,'' said McVey. ``I am delighted to have the opportunity to help expand the potential for speech technologies and believe that Interactive Telesis has the vision and experience to be a market leader.''

Ravazzolo is the president of Paragon Voice Systems (Paragon) and a pioneer in IVR and speech recognition technologies. He was among one of the first in the industry to recognize the potential of speech-related technologies and Paragon was one of the first companies to implement computer telephony in a large-scale e-commerce application (E-TRADE). Since 1991, Paragon Voice Systems has been at the forefront of speech technologies providing speech-related solutions for customers including Arthur Andersen, City of Glendale, County of San Diego, E-TRADE, Hewlett-Packard and the University of California, San Diego. Prior to joining Paragon, Ravazzolo was vice president, Industry Marketing at Data Acquisition Services Inc.

``I am pleased to bring my passion and expertise in speech recognition to Interactive Telesis' Board of Directors,'' said Ravazzolo. ``I look forward to my tenure among such a talented group of people.''

``Ken and Lee are terrific additions to our Board of Directors,'' said Don Cameron, president and CEO of Interactive Telesis. ``We have been positioning ourselves at the center of the emerging speech recognition marketplace. Ken's expertise with computer telephony and speech-related technologies and Lee's extensive business experience will be a tremendous asset as we shape and execute the future vision of Interactive Telesis.''

Ravazzolo and McVey replace Marc Goyette, who will continue to provide advisory support to the company, but has relinquished his board position to fulfill other obligations.
