The statement about the need "to rally the people against a common enemy" had nothing to do with either Bush or Gore directly. The statement had to do with the constant need of the Right and Religious Right in this country to ALWAYS have and/or create "The Enemy". To cut to the chase, the new enemy du jour seems to be China. Stayed tuned to see if Gee W. Bee, who will need to pay off The Christian Right for remaing quiet during election season, returns the favor with Supreme Court appointments...or China. If the economy turns south, China will become a very, very easy target.
