Dear JDN: From a female perspective, you left the most important thing off your list: "... you got a great wife, the sun, the air, the mountains, inexpensive wine, olives, cheeses, bread. What more does one need?" Whether Italian, American, French, Canadian, etc. etc., rich or poor, a man needs a remote control. My (Italian) neighbors across the road? The wife moved into their guest room this past spring so she could get a good night's sleep. Both she and her husband like to sleep with the TV on but her husband sleeps holding the remote control and even while asleep is able to channel surf--and turn UP the volume. Regards, Lynn
