I think it highly likely that Gore knew 1) that churches aren't allowed to be involved in politics and retain their tax exempt status and 2) that the ultimate source of the funds was the Chinese government. Especially since the FBI was all over Washington warning leaders in the Administration and the Congress of intercepts they had indicating that the Chinese government was going to try and influence our elections.

If he made the connection he broke the law - a felony - if he did not make the connection he is very stupid. Either disqualifies him from serious consideration as President IMHO.

Can't forget all of those fund raising phone calls from his federal office. Our tax dollars are not there to support Democratic (or Republican) fund raising efforts.
