The idea of a national day off for elections is not a bad idea. Make a statement to ourselves that nothing is more important on that day (aside from medical emergencies and all that stuff, of course <g>) than the exercise of our right to vote and our participation in the government that is a reflection of us.

I really don't care what they do with their time, it was just a side thought. I do find the cost and loss of productivity objectionable simply based on it's magnitude of cost. A free ride at the working class's expense.

Always wondered about the term "working class". I thought everyone who had a job, profession, or business worked. Who did I leave out?
