Therefore, indeed, there is some redeeming features in de Torqueville's analysis of the US system of government. I also agree with you "no cow is too sacred." Personally, I think one should have decent but not excessive healthcare support. I may sound cold hearted, but I really think excessive prolongation of life is not fair. I mean, while we all rejoice in miracles when patients coming out of a coma after say 15 yrs, that doesn't diminish the dilemma that this resource must come from somewhere. To be sure, I ve no answer to this kind of situation. When people realize that this is s bottomless pit, they may be more pragmatic about it.
