Implicit to me was that he thinks that the growing backlog was an indicator of those customer wins. Note that Ghriskey's company owned more than
92 million shares of CSCO at the end of the 3Q.


I think that might be an overstatement. Growing backlog indeed is a function of a book to build being greater than 1.. which CSCO has always published. But backlog could also be a function of stronger demand for components than the manufacturers can deliver against... it could be a function of carrier business - long term contractual ordering... it could be a function of many things... but taking the approach that backlog increases are net "good" and decreases are net "bad"... is pretty narrow minded.
