ToySoldier - in answer

1) Yep I did forget the comment fully about OnDemand. The current 'site' seems to be just the HTML pages with no backend services - I would guess Novell has forgot to remove the pages at this time.

2) Comdex - Novell needs forums to release what it can when it can. Their development team have stated that the NetWare JVM will be updated to 1.2 by the end of the month. The only reason that this has not been updated in the past is that IBM WebSphere 3.02 only ran on 1.1.7/8. WebSphere 3.5 requires 1.2.

So what do we have so far - well we have a new VM, and the latest copy of WebSphere. Well WebSphere is Novell's answer to suppling real Servlet and JSP support. To support WebSphere Novell also needs to release its port of Apache so that WebSphere has better web page support.

We now have New VM, WebSphere and maybe even a work web server (with NDS/ConsoleOne intergration) and Comdex seems as good a place as any to start talking about them.

And how does all this link together with OnDemand, well the last demo of OnDemand I saw was of a solution using Servlets and JSPs, which can be used cross platform, but unless Novell delivers the above, NetWare will not be one of the possible platform.
