For some reason your twist on the proposal seems familiar.

Assuming that such a program were properly branded and marketed (i.e., not called something negative like "slavery"), I wonder what % of Americans would accept the offer? Unfortunately, I would guess that this number is surprisingly large.

Still, as a classical liberal, I want nothing more than for all Americans to taste freedom. Freedom is as valuable as gold; in other words, much disregarded and shunned these days. -g- Democracy is one attribute of a free society, but it can't be the only attribute.

I don't think you'd have to give 'em a tax exemption, that would be overkill.

A couple packs of smokes seems to be the going price in Milwaukee these days<GGG>
