OT Ish, I am stunned...I am a ELCA church member, and while I knew LCMS was vitriolic (bitterly anti-ELCA to the point they [as I am sure you are well aware] forced dual affiliation churches to renounce ELCA affiliation or be removed from the LCMS rols...also 'disbarred' a LCMS pastor who participated in a dual-faith wedding), but I thought the creationism malarkey was purely Fundamentalist territory. The LCMS is undergoing massive budget cuts from dwindling coffers and is facing a pastor shortage of massive proportions. And their leader (not sure of his title...bishop? grand poo-bah?) digs his heals in taking more absolutist intolerant positions. The LCMS is in crisis, which, left unchecked is in serious trouble. Hope you are not soured on church in general...look into ELCA...Cheers
