Monday's LA Time Business Section had this story, front page plus an inside jump. I was left with three distinct impressions...first, the Kingston move was "engineered" by Intel to protect Intel's position in the small user market, which the story said represents 60% of the PC market, preventing it being eroded by switches to AMD products.

Second impression: This is what Gorillas can do, and Chimps cannot.

Third impression: This in no way looks like Intel backing away from Rambus.
