Mike and Mama Bear, Thanks for your replies. The BXM, GZTR and GZSP merger is certainly a strange duck. Even though the short holders may be able to transfer their position to the new combined company, they are running a risk of a different valuation. Currently all 3 stocks are moving in tandem and based upon the conversion ratios of the 3, the current projected trading price of the new company is around $13 1/2 per share. Time will tell if that is a proper valuation.

Regards

To All, Everyone knows I think Bluefly is the best deal in the world for men's clothes, but it just got less so. I noticed huge price rises, % wise, in many items I follow. For example, two weeks ago I bought two Donna Karan dress shirts for $49.95 and $69.95. Today, those same shirts are both selling for $84.95. Whoa, nellie. True, that is a lot cheaper than the $165 you would pay in department stores, but still a big jump.

Ditto for suits. I just bought a beauty of a Vestimenta suit for $425. The price today is $650 for the exact same suit. That's a 53% jump in this non-inflationary economy. Still a great deal, but it has been better. I guess Christmas 9 weeks away is putting visions of dollar signs in their eyeballs. Or, the mfr's are asking for a bigger piece of the pie.

Last week, Borrelli listed one shirt in three different sizes and they were sold within two hours of being listed. I got one of them, of course. <g> But, old Borrelli has to be sitting back in Italy thinking, heck, if they charged 50% more, they would still sell in less than a week.

I also had a problem with the First USA Bluefly credit card. I bought two suits, the Vestimenta and a fabulous, $2500 list price, Luciano Barbera for 76% off. My total bill was a tad over $1000. The credit card co. would not pay. Why? Because they were nervous about such a large charge when the customer was not present in the store. I didn't know this for awhile. A couple of days later First USA contacted me and I read them the riot act. Yes, it was a large charge for that card, which I only use on Bluefly, but it was a Bluefly card. They know I shop there. Meanwhile, some other cheapskate with impeccable taste stepped in and scarfed up the Barbera suit, which makes me angry just before I get mad. Thanks, credit geeks!

Yes, I will still shop at Bluefly and yes, I will still use the First USA card that gives me a 5% rebate at Bluefly. But I was a cheerleader and now I'm just a moderately happy camper, not a rah-rah type.

BTW, if you buy online, check Brandsforless to see if your store qualifies for the shipping rebate. It isn't much, but why pay shipping if you don't have to?
