Cisco sees FY2001 sales growth of 50 to 60 percent
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov 6 (Reuters) - Cisco Systems Inc.'s (NasdaqNM:CSCO - news) chief financial officer said on Monday that sales at the networking equipment maker are expected to rise 50 to 60 percent in fiscal year 2001 over 2000.

CFO Larry Carter also said that second-quarter 2001 sales would rise ``high single digits to low double digits'' from the first quarter this year.

Earlier Cisco reported sales of $6.52 billion in the first quarter of 2001 ended October 28th. That was also a sequential increase of 14 percent over the $5.72 billion in the fourth quarter of 2000, and represents growth of 66 percent over $3.92 billion in the year-ago quarter.

In one area of concern, optical networking equipment which is used by telecom service operators, Cisco said it hopes to sell $3 billion to $7 billion worth of equipment for this calendar year.

Chief Executive John Chambers said he ``could not be more pleased'' with Cisco's first-quarter results. He reiterated his belief that Cisco will continue to grow its sales by 30 to 50 percent in healthy economies.

I think its time to buy some CSCO tomorrow.
