mightylakers, other sympathetic tekkies: from today's Q press release:
"QUALCOMM's device offerings provide manufacturers with the most advanced, feature-rich solutions available for high-speed wireless Internet services and support both the 1xRTT and the 1xEV modes of cdma2000."
Please give a quick breakdown of 1xRTT vs. 1xEV--I know that they're both flavors of CDMA 2000, but:
What does each acronym stand for? Will 1xRTT come out first, to be followed by 1xEV? If 1xEV is the advanced product, what are its key strengths over 1xRTT (I assume faster data transmission is the biggie, yes?).
Appreciate the quick lesson. Regards, mike doyle

Lakers,

<< so that means the talks in 1xEv-DV will not drag down the 1xEv-Do right? <ggg> >>

I think it means I have to stop referring to HDR as vaporware. <g>
