COM DEV Wireless will supply a major global provider of wireless networks and equipment with radio frequency conditioning equipment for its new "Third Generation" Universal Mobile Telecommunications System offering. COM DEV Wireless manufactures microwave RF subsystems and systems used by global wireless network infrastructure providers, PCS equipment vendors and full service system integrators worldwide. "This is a significant opportunity which solidifies our financial plans for 2001," stated Roger Boivin, President of COM DEV Wireless. "Given that our products will be an integral part of this system, the value of the agreement to COM DEV will continue to grow with our customer's success." COM DEV's customer is a global leader in wireless, data, telephony and wireline systems including CDMA, TDMA and GSM 900/1800/1900 wireless networks. As a leader in the design and implementation of 3G wireless technology, this COM DEV customer has thus secured several major European UMTS infrastructure contracts with a total estimated value of approximately US$2 billion.
