Paul,

Are you kidding ?

1 GHz Pentium IIIs have been available on Pricewatch.com for almost 3 months !!

One way or another, that particular dealer either couldn't or didn't want any. Maybe he only buys up to third fastest processor available at the time from the vendor, and for Intel it is only 866 or 900 MHz.

Re: ". So the reason 1GHz is new to them is because Intel was unable to provide it to them since March, and they had to switch to Athlon to get them." {referring to Datel, a formerly Intel-only retailer's banner headline "1 GHz Systems Now Avaiable; New AMD Systems"}

PWE: Are you kidding ? 1 GHz Pentium IIIs have been available on Pricewatch.com for almost 3 months !!

Maybe you have a "clever" explanation for why:
1. Of six Intel-only shops, only two of them can afford a full page ad.
2. No Intel-only shops sell anything faster than 933 MHz. Five out of six only go to 800 MHz.

Sounds like Intel is bottom-feeding.
