DIXVILLE NOTCH, New Hampshire (Reuters) - Republican presidential nominee George W. Bush (news - web sites) scored a symbolic victory Tuesday, capturing the vote in one tiny New Hampshire town that traditionally casts one of the first ballots in the U.S. election.

Voters in Dixville Notch voted just after 0001 EST on Tuesday, backing Bush over Gore by a margin of 21 to five, election officials said. Green Party nominee Ralph Nader (news - web sites) got one vote, they said....

Hi, X. Thought you might enjoy this item from slate.com wherein the employees explain their choices for President. IMO, it's thoughtful, well written, funny, and moderate in perspective, in keeping with the thread subject. Michael Kinsley has an article in today's Post about how Slate came to publish their votes.

Just voted ....saw quite a few minorities casting ballots........Heard on CNBC that Florida is having a record turnout......All good signs for the good guys....

Could be that the closeness of this race will bring out the best in the democratic system.......

Strange but I have a good feeling about this.....
